Half-matt acrylic enamel – for wood and metals
A Non-yellowing, waterborne acrylic enamel for protective and decorative painting of interior & exterior wooden surfaces, wood-based, metal, plaster (eg paneling. Finished half-matt coatings exhibit very good adhesion to the substrate, high durability, flexibility and good resistance to mechanical damage. Additional advantages of enamel are: a mild odor during application and drying time much shorter compared to conventional solvent-based enamels. Due to the low emission of volatile components it can be used in rooms for permanent residence. Suitable coating composition gives good resistance to changing weather conditions and water.
Surface preparation and application:
The surfaces to be coated should be clean, dry and free of grease, stains and dust. Raw, dry wood substrate should be impregnated and primed, when dry, sanded and dedusted. Areas with resin must be cleaned with petroleum ether and dried. Old coats of alkyd enamel or oil sheen should be roughened with sandpaper and thoroughly vacuumed. Unpainted metal substrate should be primed with an anti-corrosive. Inadequate surface preparation may cause peeling and other coating defects.Mix the enamel thoroughly before use. Paint the prepared, dry surface with the undiluted enamel ( in commercial form ).If it thickens it can be slightly diluted with tap water right before application. Avoid excessive water, excessive dilution decreases the quality of the coat.Perform painting at a substrate and ambient temperatures above +10 ° C and relative humidity below 80 %, using a flat brush with soft bristles, sponge flock roller or spray. Next layer can be applied after about 4 hours. (lower temperature and higher humidity extend the drying time ). Complete drying is acheieved in 24 hours at ambient conditions. Wash painting tools with water immediateliy after finishing work.
